New modules RO8 and DI16 shipbuilding classified.
The PCM (Pleiger Control Modules) module family, which has been successfully used in shipbuilding applications for many years, has been supplemented by two additional modules and certified by the DNV-GL and Lloyds Register of Shipping for use in global shipbuilding for a further 5 years.
The Pleiger Control Modules (PCM) series is a modular product family for coupling sensors and actuators to bus systems. The system processes incoming analog and digital signals, monitors and controls electrical drives as well as electro-hydraulic rotary drives (Pleiger-EHS). The valve control modules are designed for increased availability of process engineering systems. In addition to separating the remote control level and the drive itself, the modules have numerous logic and monitoring functions and a manual operation option on the module itself.
The new modules are an output card with 8 relay outputs (RO8) and a digital input card with 16 isolated inputs. They are designed for use in harsh environmental conditions, e. g. in ships or in the offshore industry. In order to ensure the increased safety requirements on oil platforms, a strict separation of inputs and outputs is required. This now can be easily solved by a corresponding system structure with these two modules and separate bus interfaces (BI).
