Plant automation

The electronic activities at Pleiger began within Paul Pleiger Maschinenfabrik, i.e. integrated into the operations of a system supplier with modern aims. Machine construction and electronics engineers, working in close cooperation with the client, developed, planned, produced, delivered and commissioned system solutions for mechanical and plant engineering.

This cooperation with Pleiger Maschinenbau GmbH & Co. KG, today our company group partner, continues to mark a large part of our business activity in various areas of system and plant automation. Our understanding of the tasks therefore never was and never is purely related to electronics, but equipped with well-founded process knowledge and always aimed at the system solution.
We automate in the area of commercial sized plant engineering with tasks that continue to make new solutions necessary, such as the control and regulation of hydraulic motors for coke charging and discharging cars weighing tons. We have, however, often been able to also compile solutions that can be standardized for recurring tasks. Especially here we then use our possibilities of being able to offer requirement-oriented development services and well-versed process planning services from within one company.
As an example of this, our system solution for the automation of the hardening process in the sand-lime and porous concrete brick industry is explained briefly in the following section.

Pleiger sand-lime brick automation
Pleiger Electronics was the first company in Europe that completely automated the hardening process in a sand-lime brick factory in close coordination with their customer and as a result reduced the energy consumption, raw material requirement and quality problems as far as possible. Today Pleiger system solutions are in operation in many sand-lime and porous concrete brick factories in Europe.

The basis of the system solution is Pleiger's micro controller (PMC-KS) substation, with which every steam hardening boiler (autoclave) is fitted. With gradient set point it regulates the pressure curve dependent on the product, controls all connected valves and monitors the process. Each individual station is already equipped with semi-automatic function and is therefore usable as an automation solution. For the system solution the stations of every hardening boiler in the factory are connected to a supervisory system, the Pleiger Process Control system (PPC) via a field bus. It is here that all process functions of overriding importance are put into safekeeping on a PC-based single- or multi-station supervisory system, which visualizes the process in function-oriented windows and records important process data.

In addition to our own system components we of course also supply industrial well-tried sensors, Pleiger motor control valves (Type MOV + MOVS) produced by our company group partner Pleiger Maschinenbau as well as installation services if required from within one company.
